Lost Jewelry

Today it is the end of September and a beautiful morning as we move into Fall.

If one slows down for just one second they would be surprised by what the world has laid before them.  A gentle Autumn breeze that moves the hair from our face, a bright colored leaf that slowly falls landing at our feet and hearing the sounds of small animals getting ready for the winter months ahead.

This is where an Artist gets their inspiration.  Have you seen the world today?

As I drink my coffee this morning  I scan through hundreds of pictures of handmade jewelry, I like to see what others are doing.  I did see many interesting designs but more often then not I was distracted by the way the items were displayed.

You spend all that time creating what was in your imagination then you just throw it on a table or a plastic bowl and take a picture of it for the world to see. The process does not stop at the last knot.

So may times all I see in the picture is a women's chest, a hairy arm or a very white foot with bad toe nails.  This distraction causes me to forget that there is actually jewelry in the picture.
Isn't it all about showing the world your Art?

I have found after working on a piece for some time up close it is good to step away for a little while and come back with fresh eyes.  This allows me to see the item for the first time.  Now that my Jewelry piece is complete I want to show it to the world.  Here again the key word is piece or item.  As they say less is more.

Now it is time to take that picture.  You can never take back that first impression.

When I first started out I would use a scanner to capture all the details in the knotting of the Jewelry.  Pretty simple, clean and to the point.  I received an email from a person that liked my jewelry but wanted to know why I didn't show pictures of what the necklace looked like when worn. Good question.  It made me think what do I look for  when shopping, what catches my eye.  So I went back and took more pictures that still showed all the detail but did not clutter or distract from what I was really wanting to show, my artistic creation.

My best advise would be keep it simple, clean and focused as if you were the admire.
May you be successful in all that you do.

It has been an odd winter to say the least but Spring is already showing
her colors. With the first bud of pink my mind went into over load with Jewelry

This season I have taken the shell bracelet to a different level to give each person
there own unique beach style. Bright colors, different shapes and sized shells, more
Hemp necklaces for men and so much more. I have now added very detailed Hemp

Jewelry in a whole new way by ToxicDaisy on Etsy

Inspiration

It's a wonderful morning after a week of rain and the beginning to a new year.
I have so many new and colorful jewelry designs rolling through my head I
don't know where to begin.

Filled with excitement of what is to come I lay all my beads across the the counter
and leave them there until a vision comes to me of what the design will be.
Yes, this may sound odd but this process has always brought me
beautiful and unique creations so why change a good thing.

I have added new items to the shop, why not stop by and see what is just the start to
a wonderful summer.
